Every 2 months we develop menus from 2 Portuguese regions taking into account the adequacy of the products to their seasonality. The selection of the region to be tasted will be made through a sensory “game” dynamic, fostering the surprise factor and emotion.

Giving privilege to the concept of sharing, we designed the tasting menu for two people, consisting of seven moments: three starters, two main dishes and two desserts.
The menu will have a varied offer of dishes and sweets of the region, always giving privilege to organic, native products.

Vegetarian dishes, fish and meat will be served during the tasting. If you request a vegetarian menu, it will be adapted beforehand, always taking into account the gastronomic root of the place to be served.

Allergies, intolerances and diets should be mentioned in the reservation for a previous menu adjustment.

OCTOBER TO DECEMBER

The Regions of Alentejo & Trás-os-Montes

ALENTEJO

Lisbon, the capital, is situated in this region, which influences the human activity around the district, since this city is the cultural, political and comercial center of the country.

Beyond the different landscapes and the varied customs, gastronomy is another major attraction factor. In Estremadura is possible to appreciate a big variety of typical dishes, like “Caldeiradas” – excellent in Cascais, Seixal, Sesimbra or Ericeira –, clams “à Bulhão Pato”, “iscas com Elas”, codfish “à Brás”, as well as the excellent variety of seafood and “enchidos”, accompanied by the renowned wine of the region.

For dessert, the unparallaled “pastéis de belém” or the “lampreia de ovos” are temptations that are hardly resisted.

TRÁS-OS-MONTES

The Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro’s gastronomy is an inseparable part of its history and cultural memory. Luckily for us, the tradition has lasted through time and has reached our days, in the form of delicacies to eat and cry for more.

Its people knew how to adapt to the sometimes-harsh climate, managing to produce the best wines, sausages and oils, not forgetting chestnuts, almonds, mushrooms, honey and, of course, “Mirandesa”, “Barrosã” and “Maronesa “meats.

Some of its dishes still reflect the harsh living conditions of its population in the past, such as sausages, which emerged to take advantage of the less noble parts of the animals and due to their great durability, and the use of chestnuts and beans, cheap and satisfying products. And from this need were born snacks such as “alheira de Mirandela”, chestnut broth and “feijoada à transmontane”.

The fame of the smoked meat and meat folars from Trás-os-Montes has somewhat obscured the sweet flavors of the region, which, from the simple dumplings to the delicious chila and almond desserts and the unique sweet chorizos, are perfect partners.
